Instagram is making the video editing process easier than ever before. Discover how you can make clean and appealing videos with Reels Templates.
Instagram's newest feature, Reels Templates, simplifies video editing for users. Crafting an on-beat video can be tedious, especially for people without experience, and the quality rarely matches expectations. All content creators love when a platform has shiny new tools to make their job easier. As a result, social media apps compete to develop the best creator platform to attract and hold talent.
Thanks to the new Reels Template feature, users no longer need to use a third-party app to craft an aesthetically pleasing video on Instagram. Using this new feature, users can create predefined placeholders that match a sound, and others can use them to import their own media and make their own content. It is content creation in a convenient format, making users' lives easier, and increasing the quality of work for novice creators.
Creating An Instagram Reel Like A Pro
For users new to Instagram templates, the process is simple. Start by opening the app, pressing the + icon to begin a new post, and selecting ‘Reel’ from Instagram’s post options. Then select the square with the + icon at the bottom left to open the phone’s media library. From there, the user will tap the ‘Templates’ menu indicated by an eyeglass. This menu consists of templates supplied by Instagram and users alike.
Choose the desired template to begin crafting a video. Instagram will prompt the user to choose several clips based on the template’s design. Tap ‘Add media’ to choose videos from the phone’s library. Once selected, the app will redirect the user to the preview screen, where they can customize the chosen footage. Finish by selecting the ‘Next’ button to include any post-edits before sharing the Reel with friends.
Another way for users to find templates is by watching Reels. Instagram will indicate when a Reel was created with a template and include a button prompting the user to use it or save it for later. If a user sees a Reel without the ‘Use template’ button, that means the creator did not create the Reel with the criteria that would qualify as a template. For a Reel to become a template, it must have music and at least three clips edited together using Instagram. Creating Reels templates is a great way to gain viral attention, too!
These templates are Instagram’s way to compete with Capcut, a video editing software made by TikTok’s parent company Bytedance. It's a pretty smart move as beat-synced videos grow in popularity. In addition to the new template feature, the social media app is revamping its platform in other ways. Check out Instagram's newly added Candid Stories and Roll Call, as well as other updates, to see everything the social media platform has in the works to stay ahead of the competition.
